Registration Guide
Can I Download My CoC After It Has Been Registered on CoC Vault?
Vault subscribers can download the original CoC PDF from the CoC Vault dashboard at any time. Non-subscribers' CoC PDFs are deleted after 30 days, but the verification record (hash, metadata, and verification URL) is retained permanently for all users. Non-subscribers should maintain their own secure backup of CoC PDFs.
Vault Subscribers: Permanent PDF Access
What the Vault Subscription Provides
The CoC Vault subscription (R499/month) provides permanent storage of CoC PDFs. Vault subscribers can access the dashboard at /dashboard at any time and download the original CoC PDF for any registered CoC. The PDF is stored securely on Cloudflare R2 with AES-256 encryption at rest.
The vault subscription also satisfies the SARS 5-year retention requirement for customs records. Vault subscribers do not need to maintain separate backups of their CoC PDFs.
In addition to PDF download, vault subscribers can also share the verification URL with SARS Customs, insurers, or other parties who need to verify the authenticity of a CoC at any time after registration.
Non-Subscribers: 30-Day PDF Retention
What Happens After 30 Days
For non-subscribers, the CoC PDF is stored on CoC Vault for 30 days after registration. After 30 days, the PDF is deleted. However, the verification record — the SHA-256 hash, the metadata, and the verification URL — is retained permanently, even after the PDF is deleted.
This means that the verification URL continues to work after the PDF is deleted. SARS Customs can still verify the CoC by visiting the verification URL — the verification page will show the CoC metadata, even though the original PDF is no longer stored on CoC Vault.
Non-subscribers should download their CoC PDFs from the dashboard within 30 days of registration and maintain their own secure backup. SARS requires customs records to be kept for 5 years.
Accessing the Dashboard
Where to Find Your CoCs
All registered CoCs are accessible from the dashboard at /dashboard. The dashboard shows each CoC with its verification URL, QR code, and metadata. Vault subscribers also see a download button for the original CoC PDF.
The dashboard is accessible at any time after registration. Log in with the same email address used during onboarding — the magic-link authentication system will send a new login link to your email.
The dashboard also shows your vault subscription status, your minting history, and your partner referral code (if applicable).
Upgrading to Vault
How to Activate the Vault Subscription
To activate the vault subscription, go to the dashboard at /dashboard and click "Upgrade to Vault." The subscription is R499/month, charged via Stripe. Once activated, all previously registered CoCs (within the 30-day retention window) will have their PDFs retained permanently.
The vault subscription can be cancelled at any time. After cancellation, CoC PDFs will be retained for 30 days from the cancellation date, after which they will be deleted.
